On September 21st, 2008 Elizabeth Bryson was crowned Miss Wisconsin Teen USA 2009 in the town of Middleton, Wisconsin. As a first time pageant contestant from Brookfield, Wisconsin, Elizabeth was shocked and honored as she heard her name called as this year’s Miss Wisconsin Teen USA.
As a senior at Brookfield Academy, she has been the Vice President of the art club for two years, is part of the dance team and is an Advanced Placement Biology and Studio Art Student. She will be graduating in the May of 2009 and will go onto college in hopes of obtaining a major in biology which will then allow her to continue on to the medical school of her choice.
The quote, “the world needs dreamers and the world needs doers, but most of all the world needs dreamers who do” is a statement Elizabeth lives by everyday. For the past four years she has been an avid supporter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, a disease that her youngest sister was diagnosed with at the age of 6. Her passion for medicine and helping others has only grown over the past two years as she traveled to Biloxi, Mississippi, for hurricane relief. As an avid member of her church she plans to continue donating her time to repairing homes and working at free medical clinics in the affected area.
Elizabeth also enjoys modeling in the Milwaukee area and was given the once in a lifetime opportunity to model for Veil Magazine, Wisconsin’s leading wedding planning publication. As the featured cover model of the magazine’s spring edition, Elizabeth has been presented with multiple opportunities in the fashion world. As Miss Wisconsin Teen USA 2009, she hopes to incorporate her modeling with her title as well as her community service as part of her exciting, event filled year.
