MISS WYOMING USA® & MISS WYOMING TEEN USA®

A dream came true for Cynthia Pate on September 28th, 2008 as she was crowned Miss Wyoming USA 2009. The 22 year old came back for her third year with her eye on the title after two previous top five positions, but knowing there was going to be tough competition once again this year. Excited from competition, Cynthia was even more so when she could hear the crowd, family and friends go crazy the evening of pageant finals. “I was amazed, in shock and proud. I wanted to jump up and down, laugh and cry all at once. I can’t tell you how proud I am to represent the state of Wyoming.” Says Cynthia.

During her reign she is excited to meet the people of Wyoming and feels fortunate to be chosen as a positive role model for her state, while doing appearances and representing Wyoming at nationals. She will be working hard for a top spot in the Miss USA competition.

Cynthia has accomplished many things in life already as a young adult. With an Associates Degree in Elementary Education and a Certificate in Early Childhood Development, she is a substitute teacher for Natrona County School District while continuing her education for a Bachelors Degree. “I love everything about children and the classroom,” states Cynthia.

In her spare time she loves to be with her family and anything to do with volleyball. She has been coaching in the schools and the AAU program for 6 years now and loves every minute. From teaching the very beginning ladies the basics of how to pass a ball and hold their hands, to the more experience girls who are working to improve there skills.

Her best friend is her sister, although they are completely opposites, they balance each other out in life. Her other companion is her eighteen month old lap dog, a ninety pound German Sheppard, Rottweiler mix from Metro Animal Shelter.

Her quotes to live by are, “Treat others how you want to be treated” and “Have character.” Having character is simply doing the right thing when no one is watching and in all honesty you should treat people how you want to be treated. Warren Buffet’s guidelines concerning ethics is “Let’s start with what is legal, but always go on to what we would feel comfortable about being printed on the front page of our local paper, and never proceed forward simply on the basis of the fact that other people are doing it.” You never know when you may need help one day with something so simple and you can’t expect people to help out if you were not there for them when they needed a simple thing done. “Be your self and have confidence.”
